Pareto Marketing

John Goodman is President of Pareto Marketing, Inc and has served in the retail industry for over 27 years. He began the company after serving as a senior executive for 25 years with a subsidiary of Warren Buffett's, Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. He helped Helzberg Diamonds grow from 25 stores to 265 stores, from sales of $40 million to $500 million, and from a privately held company to a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. He was Chairman of the DMA Retail Council in New York, was President of the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association and recipient of the "Direct Marketer of the Year" award.  He is published in Direct Marketing Success Stories, Successful Direct Marketing Methods, Profitable Retailing Using Relationship and Database Marketing and numerous trade journals and periodicals. He is Chairman of the Kansas City Direct Marketing Education Foundation and serves on a number of civic boards in Kansas City including the Board of Trustees for The Kansas City Symphony and Starlight Theatre.

He received the Professional Certificate of Direct Marketing from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and holds a B.S. in Journalism from the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas. His passion for consumer marketing includes sharing his time speaking and teaching at universities and associations across the country. These include Penn State University, F.I.T. Fashion Institute of Technology, The University of Kansas, Retail Marketing Association, The Retail Marketing Institute, CRMC Customer Relationship Management Conference, The Direct Marketing Association and The National Retail Federation.
