Gene joined Targetbase in 2003, focusing on GlaxoSmithKline’s Avandia and Levitra brands. Gene provides strategic business analysis for GSK, analyzing information so it can be leveraged for higher marketing efficiency and profits.

Gene has over 18 years of experience integrating business strategies with technology and information infrastructures, and producing sophisticated communication programs to promote customer retention, acquisition, and growth. He is an expert in customer relationship management and database marketing, as well as in advanced statistics, artificial intelligence and software engineering. He has published numerous articles in the area of CRM and data mining, and has been a featured speaker at industry conferences and meetings.

Prior to Targetbase, Gene worked as a strategic and database marketing consultant for domestic and European companies. As President of Quaero, a company specializing in CRM, he developed one of the first end-to-end multi-channel CRM service bureaus, offering database operations, advanced analytics, campaign management, and strategic marketing consulting.

Before joining Quaero, Gene was the Founder and CEO of YellowBrick Solutions, a CRM technology company providing campaign management software for synchronizing inbound and outbound customer communication channels. He was fully focused on adapting and developing best practices in database marketing for the interactive environment at YellowBrick Solutions. This included dynamic segmentation techniques that were correlated with offline strategy, content delivery based on user rules, tracking and targeting anonymous users, and converting them to customers. He also worked extensively in analysis of data collected online to be used in content delivery, targeting, and offline purposes.

Prior to YellowBrick he was Senior Vice President at KnowledgeBase Marketing. While there, he headed the Decision Technologies group, providing outsource services for data warehousing, data mining, and campaign management. Core disciplines in Decision Technologies were database design and implementation, predictive modeling, campaign management, and reporting.

Before joining KnowledgeBase, Gene worked at HNC Software in San Diego, as a consultant and product manager; at Neuralware, Inc., as an instructor and head of the technical support group; and at Polaris Technologies, Inc. as president and founder.

Gene graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and mathematics.
